During Term 3 the Electric Eels were very busy writing our own class story by cooperatively gathering up our ideas together. Thank you to Riley and Oindrila for typing this up! Please read and enjoy our story…
“Phew , I’ve been walking for ages!” panted the explorer as he collapsed down by the brook. All the trees swayed above him with beautiful, golden bananas and the wind blew softly through the air. The birds chirped as they sat in the tall trees and the water splished and splashed over the rocks. The curious explorer was tired because he had been searching for new animals for hours. He was very gentle and reliable man who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
As the explorer looked down into the brook he saw a black shadow wiggling through the water. All of a sudden a flapping tail appeared above the surface of the water. He saw that it was an injured electric eel.
Luckily, he remembered that along his journey he had seen an old rusty bucket so he quickly rushed back though the forest to collect it.
As soon as he collected the bucket he sprinted back to the injured electric eel. He filled up the bucket with water from the brook and scooped up the eel.
The explorer was taking the electric eel home but on the way he came across a mushroom sitting in the bright green grass. He went up close to it, and just as he was about to touch it, it moved. The explorer jumped backwards with a shocked face.
“Hello,” squealed the mushroom politely. “I’m Doctor Mushroom and who are you?” Then the explorer noticed Dr Mushroom was carrying a little first aid kit.
“I’m Tom the explorer and I have found an injured electric eel. Can you help it?”
“Oh yes of course I can!” shouted Dr Mushroom with delight. “No one has ever asked me to help an animal before.”
“That’s funny,” said the explorer. Dr Mushroom then examined the electric eels injured tail He checked in his first aid kit and saw a bandage in the right corner. He tried to bandage it on but the eel was too slimy and it slipped right off onto the dusty path. Next Tom remembered he had a plaster in his pocket in case he got hurt. So he tried it on the eel but the eel was still too slimy. Afterwards Dr Mushroom found a taser in the middle of his first aid kit. He reached carefully inside so he wouldn’t zap himself and got the taser. He then electrocuted the electric eel. ZAP! Went the taser. But it still didn’t work!
Finally, Dr Mushroom remembered the healing pond back at his house. “You can stay in my healing pond until you are better,” said Dr Mushroom. “Thank you for helping me,” the electric eel said gratefully. The explorer said farewell and started his journey home. The eel and Dr Mushroom were very happy living together. A new friendship had begun!
